Who we are
CaptureShot is a product of Fiveium Technologies. This policy describes the website, the online screenshot tool, and the currently published Chrome extension.
Online website screenshots
When you request a screenshot, the server visits the public URL you provide and temporarily stores the generated PNG outside the public web directory. The image link uses a random identifier, expires after one hour, and the file is removed by routine cleanup. Do not enter private, confidential, or access-token URLs. The destination website may see a visit from our capture server.
Abuse prevention
We use a session cookie and a short-lived rate record based on a hash of your IP address to limit repeated captures. This rate record is used for service protection and is not sold.
Accounts and payments
When you create an account, we store your name, email, a password hash, and plan access in private server storage. We send your account ID, email, name, chosen price and plan to Fiveium Pay when you start checkout. Fiveium processes the payment and sends signed billing events; CaptureShot uses verified entitlement status to grant access. We store capture usage records for plan limits. Payment card details are handled by the hosted checkout, not stored by CaptureShot.
Contact forms
When you send a message, we store the email address, name, message, and submission time so the CaptureShot team can respond. Submissions are stored privately outside the public web directory. We do not sell form information.
Chrome extension
The current Chrome extension keeps screenshot and recording history locally on your device and does not upload your captures to CaptureShot servers. Chrome requests camera or microphone access only when you choose recording features that use them.
CaptureShot AI
When you choose an AI action, your prompt and uploaded image are sent to Google Gemini for processing. This is separate from the local Image to Text tool. We do not keep AI inputs or answers as documents on our server. We store daily request counts and hashed IP addresses for usage limits. Google may use free-tier API content to improve its products. Avoid sensitive images or text. See Google’s service terms and privacy practices for more information.
Browser screenshot editor
When you upload, paste, or drop an image into the website editor, the image is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server. The editor records anonymous action counts for opening and exporting images. If you open a screenshot from the website capture tool, that screenshot was already generated temporarily by the server as described above.
First-party site statistics
We count page views, visits, tool attempts and results, and clicks to the Chrome Web Store. Daily records include a one-way hash of each website session to estimate unique browsers. We do not store your screenshot URL, OCR text, or AI answer in these statistics. Daily analytics files are kept for approximately 90 days. Chrome extension user figures shown in our admin are entered manually from the Chrome Web Store dashboard and are separate from website clicks.
Third parties and requests
Opening the Chrome Web Store takes you to Google's service. The website uses first-party server-side statistics and does not include third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Image to Text uploads are sent to the local OCR engine and removed after processing; extracted text is returned to your browser, not kept as an OCR document. To request access or deletion of contact information, use our contact form and provide the email you used.
Changes
We may revise this policy as the service evolves. Changes will appear here with a new date.
